The global energy industry is undergoing a rapid transformation. Concerns around economic security, climate, and geopolitics have come to the forefront as governments & businesses take major steps to diversify energy sources and balance society’s reliance on fossil fuels. This means tapping electricity from natural sources (hydro, solar, wind, nuclear, geothermal, etc.) and will fundamentally change how we power our cars, homes, and industry.

There are many technological hurdles to overcome before we can fully realize the benefits of electrification, but perhaps none more critical than the need for improved EV, grid, and home battery technologies for harvesting & storing energy at scale. Despite having plentiful reserves of key natural resources and technical know-how, the United States has historically underperformed in the battery industry, with many critical components of the supply chain concentrated elsewhere. Recent legislation has sought to change that, offering incentives to bolster North American battery production with tax & regulatory relief.
