Semiconductors are the nanoscopic chips (often silicon-based) that form the backbone of modern hardware technology. Whether inside our computers, phones, cars, or home appliances, semiconductors are critical for our electrical devices to function. Despite having been invented in the USA, the semiconductor industrial supply chain has become highly complex and diversified, with different processes concentrated in different areas of the world.

Global supply chain disruptions and geo-political tensions in the past few years have highlighted the need for a more localized supply chain in this critical strategic industry. As such, recent legislation has been enacted to incentivize North American semiconductor production with tax & regulatory relief.
